A lack of sleep isn’t just dangerous to your own health, but it can also put the safety of those around you at risk. This is particularly true when it comes to operating a motor vehicle. According to the American Sleep Association (ASA),

Sleep disorders as of now influence as many as 50 to 70 million U.S adults and insomnia is the most regularly reported.

At our Sleep Medical Center, we can conduct a sleep study to get to the underlying issue behind your nighttime problems. In some cases, your sleep problems may just be a matter of getting more sleep at night or making some lifestyle adjustments to ensure this occurs. In other cases, you may have a sleep disorder that’s the root of your issues.

With our state-of-art equipment, we can test for sleep disorders such as:

  • Sleep apnea

  • Insomnia

  • Narcolepsy

  • Restless leg syndrome

  • Multiple sleep latency test and maintenance of wakefulness.

The Department of Transportation recently dropped a decision to forego sleep apnea testing for train engineers and truck drivers as a part of the DOT testing.

Our providers stay up-to-date on decisions like these to ensure our liability towards all patients.

Following the test, we’ll explain the results to you and one of our sleep specialists will recommend a course of treatment, if necessary.

If you’re feeling excessive daytime fatigue, are having a difficult time concentrating and become easily irritable,  call Sleelp Lab at Summit Center For Health and schedule an appointment for a Sleep Study.
